The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 have officially been released, and National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) has secured a global ranking of 50–150 in Classics and Ancient History. This marks the second consecutive year NTNU has earned this international distinction, reflecting sustained academic excellence in the humanities.

This achievement highlights the exceptional research and dedication of the faculty and staff at the College of Liberal Arts, demonstrating our deep-rooted strength in traditional humanities disciplines. We extend our deepest gratitude to every colleague whose hard work made this recognition possible. We also extend our sincere congratulations to our peer institutions—including National Taiwan University (NTU), National Chengchi University (NCCU), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), and National Chung Cheng University (CCU)—for their outstanding placements, collectively demonstrating the strength of Taiwan’s humanities scholarship on the international stage.

With this honor comes a renewed sense of mission. As the humanities stand at the intersection of tradition and innovation in the AI era, the NTNU College of Liberal Arts remains grounded in its rich academic heritage. Guided by the enduring principle to “explore the relationship between nature and humanity, and comprehend the evolution from past to present” (究天人之際，通古今之變), we will continue fostering deep dialogue between the humanities and modern technology, preserving human civilization while pioneering new academic frontiers.
