Three Full-time Positions in History (NTNU)
The Department of History at National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan invites applications for the following full-time positions to begin in August 2025:
A. Jop Openings: Several full-time or project-based positions at the rank of assistant professor or higher.
B. Qualifications:
1. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree, with academic expertise in:
(1) World History (priority given to expertise in Northern and/or Southern American, Germany, Southeast Asian, or Russian history). OR
(2) Chinese History (priority given to social and/or cultural history).
Preference will be given to those who can teach in English.
2. Except those “new teachers”, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
(1) Published a formal monograph within the last three years, with peer review comments and relevant proof of publication.
(2) Published two academic journal articles indexed in SCI, SSCI, TSSCI, EI, A&HCI, the new 2016 THCI (formerly THCI Core), or SCOPUS in the last three years, with the applicant as the first author or corresponding author.
(3) Conducted at least two National Science Council research projects in the last three years.
(4) Got outstanding professional performance with relevant supporting documentation.
Publications and research projects may be mutually offset.
3. If the highest degree is from NTNU, the applicant must have at least two years of work experience in research, a specialized profession, or a position closely related to the subject they will teach.
New teachers are defined as those who have obtained a Ph.D. within two years prior to the external announcement of this position (excluding male military service time) and who do not have prior full-time teaching experience at a college level or higher.
C. Required Documents:
1. A personal resume and copies of academic degree certificates.
2. Five hard copies each of representative works (clearly marked) and related publications from the past three years, along with a Chinese summary. (The application form for faculty experience must be downloaded from the department’s website.)
3. A list of publications and transcripts from Ph.D. studies.
4. Syllabi for proposed courses.
